12 Month Secondment
We are recruiting for someone to join the Recruitment team on a 12 month secondment opportunity. This is an opportunity to learn all things Recruitment and Early Careers and then look to specialise in a given area.
Please note, there is no guarantee that the role will be extended past the 12 months.

Who will be in your team?
Not only will you be part of the Recruitment Team, you will also be part of a wider L&S and HR Team! Here is who is in the team...

The team is then headed up by Phil and Luke.
Whilst Recruitment is the main focus of this role, there will be occasions in the future scope of this role, where you will need to work closely with the wider team on a variety of projects.

The Role
Within this role you will work in the Recruitment Team focusing on Front Line Recruitment (for our operational roles), Specialist recruitment (our Head Office roles), along Early Careers (the Apprenticeship scheme).
You will have involvement in preparing, planning and executing recruitment cycles for both front line and specialist roles. You will also be involved in headhunting new staff members.
Candidate experience is vital and extremely important to us, therefore you will be responsible for co-ordinating all communication with candidates, both in and out of working hours, to ensure that they are well informed about the role, recruitment process and expectations. You will be communicating with candidates in a variety of different ways including, text, email, telephone and video. Some of these candidates will not be engaged in our process and so you will need to be confident in selling the role and FRFL to them.
You will also play a part in projects that the Recruitment team are working on to improve our overall process, ensuing we are lead by our data and recruiting for the skills we require as an organisation.
What we are looking for in you...
- We are looking for someone who isn’t afraid to pick the phone up and speak to a variety of people, some who are engaged in the recruitment process, and some who we have never spoken to before.
- You must have the ability to forward think, looking at the bigger picture.
- You must be resilient and shape failure in a positive way. There will be numerous set backs in this role and it is key that you don’t let this get you down and see the positives out of it, quickly bouncing back.
- We need someone who has an inquisitive mindset, who will ask quality questions and look for continual improvements.
- Making big decisions is something you must feel comfortable doing, even if those decisions are hard ones. You will have the autonomy to make your own decisions on all aspects of the role, therefore you must be decisive.
- Creativity is key in this role. We are looking for someone to come in and bring to the table new and innovative ideas on the way we do things.
- You will be required to be proactive in your approach, actively managing your own workload. In times where there is no recruitment activity, you will need to be pro-active and look to participate in value adding work. This takes detailed diary management and organisation.
- You must be confident in your ability to build relationships, both internally and externally, with a wide range of people at all levels. This is inclusive of stakeholders within First Response and external agency partners and candidates.
- You must have a research mentality, being able to put dedicated time into researching the employment market, recruitment trends and challenges and then feed this information back to the business and the process.
- It is imperative that you finish what you start, following all work through to completion.
- Within this role, things rarely turn out how you planned therefore you must be comfortable with changes happening at the last moment, being able to adapt with little preparation.
- You must be able to see the value in data and utilise recruitment data to shape change in the team and improve the process.
- You will be expected to facilitate in a number of ways, including, but not limited to facilitating conversations with candidates, facilitate external relationships, facilitate assessment days and facilitating interviews. Therefore you must be a confident facilitator.

To apply for this role, you will ideally need to work full time hours. The team are however, open to a conversation around part time hours, so it is worth having a chat if you are interested.
To apply for this position you can be located at any of our sites, however it is important to point out that there will be an expectation for you to attend our Nottingham and Leigh offices on sometimes on a weekly basis when the recruitment demand is high. This will however be planned in advance.
