Technical Skills we’re looking for:
- A working knowledge of design patterns & principles (creational, structural, behavioural, SOLID, KISS, YAGNI, DDD etc). along with ASP.NET Core
- Awareness of Cloud Platforms including but not limited to Azure Portal, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS concepts
- The ability to write clean code in C# utilising design patterns and principles
- A working knowledge of Database Technologies such as SQL and ORM’s (Entity Framework)
- Understand Enterprise Architecture including microservices, Service Bus, cloud design patterns and application architecture.
- Web Technologies including Angular/React and HTML5/CSS
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps including CI/CD, agile boards, and PR’s
- Experience using Testing frameworks and principles inclusive of Unit Testing XUnit, Autofixture, Integration testing, and an understanding of TDD
- Experience working within an agile delivery methodology
As well as the ability to be great technically, there are some things that we require everyone in our technology teams to show:
- Take ownership and accountability of given tasks, seeing them through to completion and to a good standard
- Knowledge of and experience working within agile methodologies inside in-house engineering teams
- Ability to work well as an individual or part of a team, embracing the “open and honest” culture where feedback is seen as a positive. Showing the ability to have a balanced discussion, able to look at different viewpoints and also take other colleague’s solutions forward.
- You can identify, locate and fix faults showing a keen eye for detail, organisation and a desire to adhere to best practises.
- Excellent communication skills, with both technical and non-technical colleagues, in order to provide coherent updates and suggest ideas or improvements where possible
- Display a continuous improvement mindset in relation to your own development as well as the team, actively taking part in your own personal and professional development whilst seeking help where necessary, and staying up to date with the latest technology
- Being a committed and engaged team player, demonstrating that you are doing your best for the team, open to learning, driven to succeed, and that you value the thoughts and contributions of your colleagues
- Being able to work with the business to identify requirements, offering objective solutions alongside being able to provide and consider alternative options.
- Willingness to help your Team Lead carry out various daily tasks, including supporting more junior developers.
- We’re also looking for someone who has ideally had around 2-5 years of industry experience working in an agile development team, along with a formal qualification such as a BSc in Computer Science or a related discipline – however, this is desirable and not required!
Pay and Benefits:
£35,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience; your salary will be reviewed regularly. You will also receive a yearly company bonus subject to yours and the company’s performance and a wide-ranging benefits package tailored to you. Some of the benefits you could choose are:

Working Hours:
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours a week, however there is a degree of flexibility on how you work these hours. As long as your working day is inclusive of our core hours (from 10:00-15:00) you can work however you like around that!*
*For example from 07:00-15:30 through to 10:00-18:30
Location:
Although you may be asked to attend our Nottingham Office (NG9 6RZ) on occasion to collaborate with the wider team, you will have the option to work from the office, from home, or a mixture of both! We estimate that these collaborative days could be around once a month.
Regardless of where you’ll be working, will kit you out with everything you’ll need to work from home, or from the offices so there's no need to worry.
