The Sales Team
Within our Sales Team we have 3 different roles. IDM, BDM and Dealer Set Up. Take a look below to find out more...
Dealer Set Up Team
Our Dealer Set Up Specialists are our gatekeepers to making sure that the dealer partners we are working with meet both the high expectations of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as well as the high expectations that First Response have for how customers are treated. They carry out a variety of checks on dealerships and their owners to ensure we are working with dealer partners who share both our and the FCA's values and principles of how business should be done.
Attention to detail and great communication skills are pivotal to this role. It is also important that you are able to adapt to your audience and make sure that everyone understands what is required of them.
Being able to work thoroughly, adapting well under pressure and working efficiently are definitely key requirements of this fast paced role!
Internal Dealership Managers
Our IDM's are our version of Account Managers, responsible for prospecting and developing used car dealer relationships. They are phone based and their main aim is to build and retain mutually beneficial relationships in their territory.
Each IDM has a geographical territory, all of which are relatively large, and it is their responsibility to make sure that they know their territory inside and out, making sure it performs well. IDM’s deliver exceptional customer service both to our dealership partners as well as our customers. All our IDM’s are trained in the customer journey as well as the dealer journey, meaning that 9 times out of 10 the first person a customer or dealer reaches will be able to answer their query, or know exactly who will be able to!
Time keeping, influence, resilience and problem solving are all crucial skills for this role. It is also really important that you can think on your feet as you will be making and receiving many calls every day.
Business Development Managers
Our Business Development Managers (or BDMs) work out on the road in their geographical territories, aiming to improve business for our dealer partners and First Response Finance alike.
They work very closely with the IDM's in their territory to work together on building and maintaining relationships with their car dealerships. Their focus is on helping and supporting dealerships to sell more cars through analysis of their business model and helping them to improve their own sales. They also play a key role in identifying changes and developments in the marketplace as well as providing competitor insight. One of their key roles is understanding where our own products can be further enhanced within the marketplace.
Key skills within this role are influence, communication and analysis. You also need to be able to work on your won autonomy, and work with a team internally to achieve common goals.
