You can apply for any of our vacancies directly through our Careers website! Simply find the role you're looking for, click apply, fill in some contact details and attach your CV. This will then be sent straight through to our Recruitment team who should get back to you within a couple of days.
We also use some external job boards to advertise any roles we have available - the main ones we use are Indeed and Glassdoor, so keep an eye out on there too! If we aren't recruiting for the role you're interested in, you can connect with us and be the first to hear about any new opportunities

Our recruitment process at the moment is 100% virtual given the current situation with COVID 19. You can expect to be invited to virtual interviews and assessment centres via Microsoft Teams. Don’t worry if you aren’t too ‘techy’ because we have created guides on how to use Teams if you have never used it before.
Our interviews are more like informal chats to allow us to really understand you as a person. It’s a two way assessment, as much as we are assessing you for the role and company, we want you to make sure that we are a company you would want to work for too! Along the way you will meet members of Recruitment and the management team for the role you are applying for.
All through our process, we pride ourselves on making sure you are informed at every single stage of the process. If you are unsuccessful at any stage then you will have the option to request feedback as we want to make sure you understand why you didn't get through the stage, because lets face it, what’s worse than applying for a role and never being told why you didn’t get through! Why not take a look at our blog on how to control your nerves for some hints and tips.

Most of our recruitment processes have now been taken virtual. Don’t worry though, we have everything in control and you will receive all the information you need before any recruitment process happens.
We use Microsoft Teams as our online platform for all stages of recruitment, although each stage does look slightly different. From your end, all you need to make sure is that you have a Laptop or Computer, a webcam, a quiet space (as quiet as possible – especially whilst we are in the pandemic!) and most of all yourself! We will take care of everything else.
You will be provided with the necessary links to join your assessments, whether that be an interview, group assessment or anything else. You will also have the contact details of a specific person within the Recruitment team who will be on hand. Should you have any concerns at all, just get in touch! There is always someone available to support you.

To ensure we have the right person for the job, we want to make sure we can test all of the skills we require for the role. The virtual assessment centre is an opportunity for you to get to know us more and vice versa, along with completing some activities that test certain qualities that we are looking for in the role.
You will need to be available for the whole day, however we don't expect you to sit chained to your chair all day. There will be small blocks sent to you well in advance so you know when you are required to be available. You may find there are other candidates you will meet along the way as well as meeting some of the people you would be working with.

Congratulations! Stage 1 is the first stage of any of our recruitment processes and is a chance for us to get to know you more, understand your motivations for wanting to change your role and also why you are interested in the position here at First Response. This stage is typically with one of our Friendly recruitment team, and also gives you an opportunity to get any of your burning questions answered. You will be notified within a maximum of 2 days after this stage whether or not you have been successful through to the next stages of your recruitment process.

If you have got to this stage of the process you will have already had a short conversation with members of our Recruitment Team.
This interview is a little more in depth than others you would have taken part in throughout the process, and generally only happens for our technical roles.
This is a deep dive technical interview in relation to the role you have applied for. You will be joined by the management team of the department and will have the opportunity to talk us through projects you have worked on, skills you have and any other interesting facts about yourself!

Our Recruitment Team will ensure throughout your process that you have as smooth a ride as possible. You will be updated via email, calls or texts frequently and in a timely manner. We aim to acknowledge your application within 48 hours and follow the same time frames at every stage of the process.
Call us your friends on the inside, if you have any concerns at any stage of the process then we are the ones you can come too and we will try and help and assist the best we can.
-
Of course they can!!! You will see on the application page for the role there is a section that asks you if you have been referred.
To ensure we know how to link your application to the current employee, you will need to ensure you pop the name of the person referring you on your application!

Quickly! We don’t believe in candidates waiting long periods of time before hearing from us directly. We would expect you to have heard from us initially within a few hours of making your application but our official timeframe is 48 hours.
Throughout your Recruitment process with us, we will be in regular contact by email, phone or text to make sure that you have everything you need and you feel prepared for your upcoming interview/assessment. Remember if you have any concerns at all get in touch!
-
This is tricky one. It really depends on the role you have applied for. We aim to complete any recruitment process as quickly as possible, however on average each Recruitment process will take no longer than a matter of weeks.
If you needed a more detailed timeframe then you can speak to the Recruitment Team at any time.
-
Regardless of where you are in the process, if you aren't successful a member of the Recruitment team will be in touch to let you know. This will usually be by email or a phone call, depending on what stage in the process we're at.
We're really big on feedback here, so if you would like to get some feedback on why you weren't successful on this occasion just ask a member of the team. This will be sent to you via email within 1 week!

Being unsuccessful first time round doesn't necessarily have to be the end of the road. If, after 12 months, you'd like to re-apply for a role with us you are welcome to!
